World’s Fastest Sedan
By Chris Weiss
G-Power announced today what it’s calling the world’s fastest sedan. The German tuner turned the BMW M5 into an 800-hp beast known as the Hurricane RR, and captured a track time of 231.2 mph–in a two-ton sedan! While it doesn’t appear the time was independently verified, that’s still a lot of mph’s for a four-door.
G-Power used a set of twin superchargers to add 300 horses to the stock 5.0-liter V10 engine, along with MAHLE high-performance forged pistons, new connecting rods and new piston pins. The tuner added a high-performance braking system, height-adjustable coilover suspension system and a body kit that increased downforce and air cooling. The Hurricane RR rolled to the record on Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
G-Power’s upgrades are available for BMW M5 and M6 models, starting at around $71,000. [via AutoBlog]
