I’m pretty confident that there were a few cans of Budweiser involved in the visualization of a rocket-powered Ford650. Possibly a John Deere hat or two.

As you can tell from the not-so-subtle writing on the side, this is the Frictionator, a Ford F650 that benefits from a giant 7,000 hp GE J85 jet engine mounted in the bed. It’s driven by Joe “Uncle Joe” Arnold who claims it the “fastest street legal jet powered truck in the world”.

Street legal, you ask? Sure, just cut the power to the jet engine and drive around like you would any other F650, though you might have an extra police stop or two mixed into the average commute. When so inclined, flip the jet engine on and reach speeds around the 200 mph mark. The minds behind the Frictionator seem pretty eager to recoup the costs of that jet engine by bringing the truck to an event near you, so keep your eye out. [Frictionator via Dvice]
