Volkswagen Kai-Nalu Design Study
By Chris Weiss
Taking inspiration from the timeless ebbing and flowing of the Mediterranean Sea, designer Josep Ferriol shakes up VW’s lineup with a completely new look. Called the Kai-Nalu, the concept was part of Ferriol’s thesis at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain. As you could probably discern, the glass windshield and roof represent the waves of the sea. The sharp lines of the car body represent the rocks onto which the waves crash. It’s a little piece of nature bottled for our driving pleasure.
As far as a powertrain, Ferriol envisions an electric set-up with two motors. This one would certainly inspire a few more stares than a Passat ever could. [via WCF]
