Vath Tunes the Mercedes Benz E550 Coupe
By Chris Weiss
Adding some performance, visual enhancements and a V50S designation to the Mercedes Benz E550 Coupe, German tuning firm Vath has provided a venerable upgrade to the sexy coupe. Vath begins where any good tuner should–under the hood. With a retuned ECU, new exhaust system and sport air filter, the E550 V50S jumps up to 435 hp (from 388) and offers a top speed of 174 mph.
Assisting the driver in managing the increased power and speed, a new, adjustable sport suspension allows for lowering between 20mm and 65mm. Six-caliper, high-performance brakes boost stopping power.
Visually, Vath gives us a carbon fiber body kit with such mods as a new front lip spoiler and rear diffuser, as well as 20-inch alloy wheels with 245/30 R20 (front) 285/25 R20 (back) rubber. Standards like leather trim, carbon fiber updates and floor mats deliver a little something for the interior. More pictures post-jump. [via Carscoop]
