Two-Wheeled, Carbon-Fibered Demon: Confederate Motors B120 Wraith
By Chris Weiss
Today has been all about eye candy, what with sports cars like the Ferrari 599 GTO, Lamborghini Jota and Lotus Elise stealing all of our attention. So I figured I’d continue the trend and pull out a post I’ve been saving since the press preview of the NY Auto Show last week. This is eye candy for a different breed, those that love far-out, mettle on metal motorcycles.
This is the brother of the Confederate Motorcycles P120 that we showed you earlier this week. Called the B120 Wraith, the motorcycle features a 125-hp radial twin engine mounted on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis.
Here’s what Confederate has to say about their baby:
Conceived as a counterpoint to the golden era of the 1930′s, which inspired beginning design work on the Hellcat, we chose the pre-16 era of motoring and the courageous free spirited nature of the board track racer as our inspirational starting point. Holistic evolution of efforts made to evolve the radial aircraft architecture of our V twin powerplant through the Wraith’s chassis platform architecture was mandated. Perfected balance of proportion and evolutionary brand gestalt were referenced. As Brough Superior, Vincent and Crocker most connected emotionally to the Hellcat, the Pierce would illuminate what the Wraith could be; Quite simply, the world’s most luxurious, sporting two-wheeled device.
Only 250 will be offered.
