We aren’t really fond of the tongue-tying name, but the actual concept behind the Transparentius road view system, designed by Art Lebedev Studio, is immediately endearing.

Think of the last time that you were driving behind an 18-wheeler in slow to medium traffic–you can’t see a damn thing beyond the top of the trailer. So if there happens to be a yellow-going-on-red light beyond the truck, or if you want to pass it when the lines break, it’s extremely difficult to prepare and react.

The simple but smart Transparentius design places a camera system on the front of the truck, which captures images that are projected onto the rear. The drivers in back are able to see what’s beyond the truck without craning their necks out the window.

No real technical information on the system has been offered, and it appears to be a loose concept from a design studio, but this is an excellent idea that could work immediately. Hopefully, someone will pick this up in the future. [Art Lebedev via Slash Gear]

So you coming down the road at some speed and fail to see that there is REALLY a full size truck with trailer right in front of You and not a clear road ahead. Too late, trucks get rear ended as they don't look like trucks any more .
How friggin dumb do we have to get, and how much more technology, to accommodate the incompetent drivers of today.
