Toyota’s Prius G Sports Concept in Tokyo
Jan 15, 2010 - By Chris Weiss
Honda isn’t the only Japanese automaker displaying a new, customized hybrid concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Toyota is using the show to display its Prius G Sports Concept. Borrowing the ‘G’ from Toyota sport models of years past (i.e. 2000 GT), the customized Prius features a variety of tweaks and upgrades beginning with specialized suspension and seats. The distinct exterior is joined by performance upgrades overseen by Gazoo Racing.
Other than that, Toyota didn’t get too specific on the modifications that will be a part of the interior, exterior and powertrain. The company also didn’t mention if the car will be coming to the States, though it does plan on beginning a grassroots campaign at motorsports events, which will include U.S. stops. [via Inside Line]
