2010 toyota prius Toyota Takes Home Top Spot in Consumer Reports Survey

Despite a year infused with major recalls, Toyota took home top honors in the recent Consumer Reports Car Brand Perception Survey. Apparently, consumers were going on reputation rather than current events.

The survey measures how consumers perceive each brand in terms of seven qualities: safety, quality, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation, and environmentally friendly.

Ford continued its early-2010 success in earning the number two spot while Honda and Chevy followed up with three and four respectively.

On the other end of the spectrum, Hummer held down the bottom while Saab, Mercury and Mazda tied for second to last.
