The Pagani Huayra Has Arrived.
By Chris Weiss
After last week’s leak, Pagani only wasted a few days before introducing the Huayra. The new V12 flagship is officially here.
As we knew, the Huayra is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine designed specifically for the car by Mercedes AMG. That bi-turbo engine will put out 700 horses and 773 lb-ft on the “standard” Huayra and 730 horses and 811 lb-ft on the Sport model. It will be controlled via a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.
The car’s exterior includes four air flaps that automatically adjust to optimize downforce, handling and acceleration.
As far as that acceleration goes, Pagani hasn’t offered a final number, but indications are that it will be around 3.3 seconds to 62 mph. And top speed is expected in the 230-mph range.
The Huayra will make its auto show debut in Geneva, and production will start later this year. It is expected to carry a price tag of €1,000,000 (app. $1.37 million) and will be legal in the U.S. (unlike the Zonda). [via Autocar]
