It’s a dull Tuesday in March and most of the long week is still laid out in front of us. Why not break the monotony for a few minutes (or hours) and take advantage of Koenigsegg’s recently launched Agera configurator? What better way to waste a little company dollar than fiddling around with different colors and options for the latest 910-hp supercar? You can choose the exterior color, rear wing style, wheels and interior trim.

McLaren MP4 12C 51 McLaren to Add F1 Replacement, Convertible and Others to the New MP4 12C

Yesterday, when McLaren unveiled the long-awaited MP4-12C, company execs mentioned that they intend to build a family of cars. Unfortunately, they didn’t expand on that, but reports are circulating in auto rags that provide a little insight into the make-up of that family.

In terms of the MP4-12C, McLaren will offer convertible and racing versions, in addition to the standard coupe we’ve already seen. The company is currently working on two new cars, and speculation dictates that McLaren will surround the MP4-12C with a  911 competitor underneath and a high-performance F1 replacement up above.

The McLaren MP4-12C hasn’t exactly been a stranger around these parts, but until today, it wasn’t official either. McLaren will produce 1,000 MP4-12Cs at its new, $60 million production facility. Unlike the McLaren F1, the MP4-12C won’t be among the top of the top supercars and will slide into the $190K to $270K market segment. Sales will commence next year through a global network of retailers.

If one had to select a vehicle to make the trip through avalanche gates to Alta/Snowbird, it probably wouldn’t be a Lamborghini Gallardo. However, Reiter Engineering, purveyor of racing Lamborghinis, had different ideas. The company took its GT3 Strada, a Gallardo with enhanced aerodynamics and carbon fiber body work, to an unnamed ski resort and let it fly up an intermediate hill. The Lambo is outfitted with all-wheel drive and studded tires. Needless to say, it’s pretty sick watching a Lambo fly up a ski run. The perplexed Nordic skier watching the Strada roll past is also pretty funny. [via WCF]

What good is the Geneva Motor Show if you can’t learn about slight improvements upon European supercars that you may or may not have known even exist? The Gumpert Apollo S isn’t a 2010 release, but it may just be saying hello to you for the first time.

Gumpert has made a few improvements on its supercar that it showcased at Geneva, including adding 50 horses (up to 750 hp) by improving cooling and optimizing engine control. Gumpert has also shortened the gear shifts as low as 40 milliseconds, making for smoother shifting.

The German automaker has also introduced a right-hand version and updated the Apollo S with improved downforce from new tail flaps and LED running lights up front. [via AutoBlog]
