It’s late Monday afternoon, which means that you’ve made it through the fearsome Monday morning and are on your way to the opening of Monday Night Football. Good for you. You deserve a treat to recognize this feat. And what better treat than a promo video for the meticulously detailed, one-of-a-kind carbon-fiber suit of armor that is the Pagana Zonda Tricolore, featuring feats of track side-by-side with feats of aerobatics courtesy of the Italian National Aerobatic Team that inspired the special edition? None comes to mind. It’s one of the most interesting clips we’ve seen of late, so enjoy! [via WCF]

It’s not every day that you get to sit down with Horacio Pagani and hear him speak about one of his exclusive supercars. However, today is that day.
In a new video, Pagani details how the Zonda R reached a record-setting Nurburgring time of 6:47. Unfortunately, Pagani isn’t speaking English, so you’ll have to settle for subtitles. On the plus side, Marc Basseng, the driver who brought home the record in the Zonda R, does speak English and is all too happy to describe the scene.
So, to break it down simply: you have one of the true greats of automotive design, the driver that set the record on the world’s greatest track and footage of the car itself. Go to it. [via WCF]

Exotic cars, whether of the sport or luxury variety, are the artful masterpieces of the highway. These vehicles excel beyond all others both in terms of styling and performance, and they don’t need any aftermarket attention to make people stare in envy. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop tuners from trying.
With a proclivity for disaster, tuners have injected their own vision into these once-beautiful vehicles in an attempt to further enhance their illustrious beauty and brawn. Unfortunately, that didn’t go so well.
Mixing audacity, wasted skills and sheer, misguided insanity, each tuner involved in this list has failed pretty hard and executed unconscionable and egregious crimes against the automotive world.

Now this is just showing off. We know that the big guns like Autocar get to spend a lot more time on the track than the average person (or car blogger) , but four supercars for one race? That’s just a little excessive. But I suppose it’s excessively great to watch, so we’ll forgive their indulgent ways.
The competition was crafted to give the SLS AMG a concrete identity through the identification of natural rival. Which competitor comes closest? Off the cuff, I’m betting the 911 Turbo, but they all seem to have a good chance. No matter which car wins, you’ll win by watching the video after the break. [via egmCarTech]

Ferrari laid out its model refresh plan this week, and it is promising to Ferrari lovers. The company will continue with four lines: the California, 612 Scaglietti, 458 Italia and 599 Fiorano. The former two will be part of the GT division and the latter two will be part of an “extreme performance” car division. Each individual car’s cycle will run for four years, at the end of which, a heavily-revised M or modificato model will replace the original and will include significant styling, powertrain and chassis changes. Four years later a completely new model will replace the M model. With four cars in its line, Ferrari will add an M or brand new model every single year.

What goes together better than a Friday afternoon and an all-new McLaren configurator? Perhaps a Friday afternoon, McLaren configurator and a robust lager, but you probably don’t want to push your luck with the last option. Instead, right click on the MP4-12C configurator below, open a new window so you still look like you’re working and spend time designing your very own McLaren MP4-12C with choice of 17 high-grade paints (and eight additional Special finishes), five interior leather trims, performance upgrades and other options.
After painstakingly designing the MP4-12C that you’ll never drive, you might just have to call it an early weekend because working hard to avoid hard work deserves a reward. Grab that lager on your way home to pat yourself on the back. [via McLaren]

Power fanatics have been patiently waiting for the Hennessey Venom. The Lotus Elise meets LS9 was the subject of some new pictures released by Hennessey, which replace the renderings we were working with and give a look at the stunning piece of matte black composite.

It’s hard not to be impressed by the Zenvo ST1, a Danish supercar packing 1104 horsepower within its 7.0-liter V8. The car tears to 60 in under 3 seconds and looks damn good doing it.
In the ST1 promo video below, Zenvo manages another hard-to-believe accomplishment: it doesn’t impress us with the Zenvo ST1. Sure, it’s great to see some shots of the car on the road, but the poor quality of the video here doesn’t do the ST1 justice.
But alas, it’s all we’ve got, so enjoy the clip after the break. [via Jalopnik]

Is it us or does the Ferrari 599 GTO, as pictured above, look like an old lady that just stepped out of the bath tub? Either that or it’s been beaten severely with a Louisville Slugger.
As they say, beggers shan’t be choosers, so we’ll get to the good part: this is supposedly the first official look at the 599 GTO. Okay, maybe that’s not so good since you can’t really get the feel for the new coupe with this wrinkly catalog page, but we do like the blue-striped paint job. The quad hood vents aren’t too shabby either.
