Pagani Huayra Official: Pagani Huayra Is Coming To The States

We had heard that Pagani was making its all-new Huayra compliant with U.S. regulations, and now it’s official: the Italian supercar-maker will be sending the gullwinged Huayra our way. If you haven’t been following, that will make the Huayra the first Pagani to be sold in the States–the Zonda didn’t comply with U.S. regulations.

The Huayra, which will debut next month in Geneva, will make it here sometime later this year.

Pagani Huayra 21 Pagani Walkaround Video

In all the Pagani hub-bub earlier this week, I missed one of the most important parts: a video that gives a close-up of the Pagani from inside and out. It shows details that you don’t quite get from the pictures.

The video was put up by Evo magazine. It shows the air flaps in action and provides some engine audio–audio loud enough to scare a rather fierce looking German shephard.

We detailed the Pagani earlier this week, so now all that’s left to do is hit “continue” and watch the video. [via Carscoop]

The Pagani Huayra Has Arrived.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011 6:32PM - By

After last week’s leak, Pagani only wasted a few days before introducing the Huayra. The new V12 flagship is officially here.

As we knew, the Huayra is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine designed specifically for the car by Mercedes AMG. That bi-turbo engine will put out 700 horses and 773 lb-ft on the “standard” Huayra and 730 horses and 811 lb-ft on the Sport model. It will be controlled via a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.

Pagani Huayra Leak 4 Pagani Huayra Outed a Little Early

Pagani had things going just the way it wanted. The world was on the edge of its seat waiting for the new flagship. We didn’t even know what it’d be called, let alone a single solid detail. Pagani was toying with us with its unnaturally unrevealing teasers. And then…BAM. A leak brings the details Pagani wasn’t ready to show.

Pagani Deus Venti Teaser Part 3

Monday, January 17, 2011 5:38PM - By

Pagani has released the third of five teaser videos of its upcoming Deus Venti (or maybe Huayra) supercar, a little piece it calls “Shape of the Wind”. As would be expected in any teaser video series, the latest video provides the most intimate (though still entirely vague and inadequate) look at the car, showing such elements as the steering wheel and wheels.

Pagani will debut the Mercedes AMG V12-powered Deus Venti at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Hit the jump for the video.

New Pagani May Be The ‘Huayra’

Pagani C9 spyshot New Pagani May Be The Huayra

A new report out of Italy today indicates that Pagani may be replacing the codename ‘C9′ with the production name ‘Huayra’ for its new supercar. The automaker registered the name and is believed to be positioning it for its next-gen supercar. The name follows in Pagani’s tradition of naming cars after South American winds, as it means “wind” in a native Andean language called Quechua. It doesn’t roll off the tongue like ‘C9′, but it’s definitely more interesting.

Whatever it’s called, the new Pagani is expected to be a 700-hp beast that should debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. [via AutoBlog]

Teasers aren’t really known for revealing much. That’s kind of the point. But we usually get a shadowy silhouette or pair of headlights, something to grab onto while we anticipate the full reveal.

Pagani has given us none of that in teasing its upcoming C9 supercar. All it’s given us is 30 seconds worth of irrelevance for about two seconds worth of a small C9 model. Lame.

The model shows us what the rear of the car will look like with its taillight clusters and center quad exhaust–something we’ve already seen in spy shots. Other than that, nothing. Oh well, let’s hope they have a few more teasers before Geneva. [via WCF]

Hong-Kong-Bound Pagani One-Off: Zonda Absolute

Pagani Absolute Hong Kong Bound Pagani One Off: Zonda Absolute

A little simpler than other Pagani one-offs of recent memory, the Zonda Absolute uses a minimalist, bare carbon fiber exterior with a single Italian stripe running down the middle. It’s certainly not as flamboyant as the Zonda 750 or Zonda RAK, but definitely as sexy.

And as potent. It’s just speculation at this point, but the Absolute is thought to have the Zonda Cinque engine: a 678-hp 7.3-liter V12 from Mercedes. There’s no other indications as to what upgrades/modifications the customer ordered, but word is it’s for a buyer in Hong Kong. Some close-ups after the jump. [Teamspeed via Motor Authority]

Pagani Zonda Cinque vs. Lamborghini Police Interceptor (Video)

Lambo v Pagani Pagani Zonda Cinque vs. Lamborghini Police Interceptor (Video)

Here’s a showdown we’d love to see: the 678-hp Pagani Zonda Cinque vs. the Lambo Murcielago Police Interceptor. On a windy mountain road in the Italian Alps. That’s some car porn if I’ve ever seen it.

Unfortunately, we don’t have footage of an actual chase, but this clip from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit shows us what it might look like. And while I don’t usually find video game movies too compelling, this intriguing match-up was well worth the two minutes. Check it out after the break. [via WCF]
