You know when you take on a huge project at work thinking that you’ll impress the boss and pad your resume, then find out that it’s really just a whole lot of tedious work? It’s too late to back out and all you can do is curse yourself for ever getting involved and vow to fly under the radar in content mediocrity for the rest of your working days. Well, that’s a little like what I feel like with “The Next Big Thing.” It’s not much work, and I’m not really impressing anyone, but I am stuck with it in much the same way. The fourth episode of the A1-touting “The Next Big Thing” is officially out, and it’s more of Justin Timberlake getting pushed around like a brillo-headed pansy. My favorite line of the week comes from Timberlake himself: “Who’s the bitch now? Bitch!” Beautiful. As long as you keep your tongue deep in your cheek, these will continue to be enjoyable.

Alright, I’m not sure if I’m going to make it through six of these “Next Big Thing” clips. We’re only halfway to the finish line and I’m already exhausted. But, we could use more ladies on the site, and ladies like Justin Timberlake, so I’ll gut it out.

Let’s paint a real appetite-whetting picture here: an underground fight club, a former boy band superstar and a bouncer that throws out this gem in his gruffest Mr. T voice: “I’ll coo’dinate cho’ ass if you don’t move.” Yeah, it’s that good.

Looks like we spoke to soon about watching action video without Justin Timberlake in it. We were reminded that Audi released its second (of six) in the “The Next Big Thing” series this week, and we were compelled to post it for your viewing (dis)pleasure.

At the very least, the video gives the viewer the opportunity to become further acquainted with the sassy-and-sexy Dania Ramirez. Plus, JT pulls out his very best tough-guy voice and yells profanity into Bluetooth. Nice stuff.

A commercial so dramatic that it needed six individual episodes and a trailer–that’s what Audi’s “The Next Best Thing” is all about. And yet they still chose to stick with Justin Timberlake as the “action” star. Go figure.

See a black-clad JT, complete with combat boots, dig deep for his best tough guy face and try to convince us he’s a hero. Then get bored of that after four seconds and turn your attention to the blonde and brunette legs. It’s the only way you’ll make it through the full two minutes. And even then…the next big thing it ain’t.

Back before Audi officially unveiled the A1, Justin Timberlake was seen regularly filming spots as the car’s ambassador. We haven’t seen our old friend JT in a while, but he’s back in a big way. Don’t expect JT to be just a pretty face shining in the rear view of a cherry red A1; he’s going to be featured in a slew of mini-series style action commercials featuring the Audi youth-hatch.
