This here is some type of odd motorcycle concept designed by Bruno Delussu. What’s weird about it, in addition to the giant rear wheel and tiny front wheel, is that it’s designed to only go in straight lines–okay for land speed records, not so good for anything else. Those handles are just for holding, and no matter how hard you yank them, they won’t steer that front wheel an inch. It’s straight only, and with such a long, unwieldy body, I don’t imagine you’ll have much luck negotiating curves by leaning into them. Scary!

Electric motorcycles are a tough sell; you can easily get superior efficiency out of a regular motorcycle when compared to a car, so you’re already doing your part. Plus, having 200 mph worth of power underneath your package is rewarding whether you plan to use it all on one trip or not. Why dull that down for an electric drivetrain?

Well, Brammo is getting closer to making a persuasive argument. Its new Empulse, is a muscular moto that is capable of speeds up to 100 mph and a range of up to 100 miles–why they didn’t call it the Empulse 100 is beyond me. Not only that, but it emulates raw capability from its compact but powerful stance.

The MotoCzysz E1pc. It’s difficult to pronounce. It’s the world’s most advanced electric bike. It’s capable of speeds up to 140 mph. It packs 10 times the battery capacity of a Toyota Prius in its sleek, two-wheeled body. It just took on and won one of the world’s toughest, most dangerous races– the Isle of Man TT (electric bike race) today–with a time of 23 minutes 22.89, hitting speeds up to 135 mph. It narrowly missed out on a 10,000-euro prize for becoming the first electric bike to average 100 mph on the race course (averaged 98.973 mph). While an enclosed motorcycle might be moving dangerously close to efficient, one-seat car, this one earns a little respect for its sheer awesome design. Brought to us by Shane Baxley, a design student at Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, the vehicle “delivers the mobility and speed of a motorcycle while offering the safety that a cocoon offers a butterfly. The Aebulle is targeted for the Los Angeles region where it would utilize the commuter lanes allowing its occupant a quick commute.” In LA, it should also earn you a conversation or two with a scantily-clad blond beauty.

Ordinarily, trikes are tools of child’s play. Small, stable three-wheelers that provide wheeled movement for children not quite ready for more advanced vehicles. In the case of the Frogman Rocket II, however, trikes are anything but child’s play. Designed by Blastolene, this beast of a cycle is powered by a Hemi V8 engine that spits over 1,000 horses onto the three wheels.

Usually, hot, Italian bikes come bearing the name Ducati. But this funky DIYer has Ferrari all over it. And not just the Prancing Horse badge, but an actual Ferrari-influenced sidecar. Hideous? Horrifying? Absolutely. Intriguing? Most definitely.

Actually, outside of the hot red color, the car hardly resembles a Ferrari, but that’s the way it’s billed.

I happened across this design on a site called “ChillOutPoint”, which I’ve never read before. It appears to be an art, novelty and design picture site, so I’m not sure how legit these photos are. Real or not, the Ferrari chopper provides some food for thought. And that food might just be coming back up after giving it the full eye-over. [via ChillOutPoint]

The concepts of organic gardening and tofu hamburgers are diametrically opposed to those of leather chaps and wall-rattling horsepower, but a Russian designer named Michael Smolyanov decided to see what would happen if he traipsed between those two worlds. What happened was a loud, green-and-yellow motorcycle that looks like something that Poison Ivy from Batman The Animated Series should be driving.

Not too much detail was floating around on the make-up of the M-Org a.k.a. Organic Bike, but it doesn’t just look green; it features organic materials up, down, under and over. It also looks like it’s going to sprout roots and not move a foot, but it’s quite a concept. [TwoWheels via Jalopnik]
