Lexus LFA Nurburgring 9 Lexus Releases More LFA Nurburgring Pictures

We’ve known about the 50-model Lexus Nurburgring package for nearly a year now, yet we’ve been stuck using the same pictures story after story. But today that all changes. In anticipation of its official Geneva show debut, Lexus has released a sizable album of new Nurburgring pictures, showing the orange car from all angles. We were hoping for a picture or two of the $20,000 matte black paint job, but maybe Lexus is saving that one for Geneva.

The LFA Nurburgring package adds a number of upgrades to the $375,000 LFA, including 10 extra horses, tuned suspension and a big, ol’ spoiler in back. The package starts at $70,000.  [via Motor Authority]

LFA Model 2 Scorching Hot: Lexus LFA Drifting Around Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model (Yes, Theres Video)

What’s hotter than a 500-model, $375K supercar? A 500-model, $375K supercar pulling donuts around a supermodel in matching bikini. That’s one of many exhilarating things that you’ll see if you pop open the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which hit newsstands today.

Model Rianne Ten Haken looked her sexiest while a Lexus LFA ran smoking circles around her in an airport hangar. Not your usual rolling-in-the-sand SI Swimsuit shoot, but pretty damn sexy all the same.

Check out a little behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot in the video after the break. [via WCF]

Lexus LFA Ring Lexus To Debut the LFA Nurburgring in Geneva

Lexus came out with the Nurburgring special edition package for the LFA nearly a year ago, but it is just now getting around to debuting it at an auto show. And not too surprisingly given all the other big cars that are debuting there, that show will be Geneva.

In case you forgot, the Nurburgring is a $70,000 (or $90,000 if you want it in matte black) add-on package for the LFA that adds 10 horses, a fixed rear spoiler, front splitter, alloy wheels with semi-slick tires and retuned suspension. The transmission is also recalibrated for quicker shifts. Only 50 will be offered. [via InsideLine]

Lexus LF A Supercar Ultra Limited CEC Lexus LFA Tuner Edition

Lexus LFA

You might think that buying a $375,000, 500-example Japanese supercar would make you feel special enough. But then you wouldn’t really know rich car guys very well.

American tuner CEC knows them a little better. And that’s why it’s offering a tuned version of the Lexus LFA to the highly exclusive tune of just three models. The Tuned Edition won’t offer any performance upgrades, but will get some extra carbon fiber inside and out; lightweight, 21-inch forged wheels; and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires.

Lexus Drops Lease Requirement For LFA

Lexus LF A Supercar Lexus Drops Lease Requirement For LFA

In one of the more ridiculous moves in the automotive world, Lexus announced last fall that it would only be offering its LFA supercar for two-year lease. In other words, those rich and powerful folks that walked into their dealership with a pile of hundreds adding up to $375K wouldn’t be allowed to walk out with their own Lexus. They’d have to lease like everyone else.

Lexus LFA Shatters Champagne Flute in New Commercial

Friday, June 4, 2010 10:00AM - By

This is a little ironic isn’t it: on the very day that the LFA sold out, the company releases its first commercial for the supercar. Is Lexus trying to make sure those wealthy devils follow through on their orders or are they just mocking the rest of us?

Luckily for me, I don’t intend to buy or sell LFAs, so I don’t really care what they’re up to. What I do care about is sweet auto footage like the revved-up LFA shattering a champagne flute with its harmonic pitch. The LFA was strapped to a dynamometer in a funky, acoustically-perfected room and revved upwards of 170 mph. As the engine sang, the champagne flute quivered and shattered slo-mo-style into a hundred tiny shards. It’s pretty quality advertising, even if the car it’s showcasing is off the shelves. [via WCF]

Lexus LFA All Sold Out

Lexus LF A Supercar Lexus LFA All Sold Out

We knew the LFA would be a hot-seller, what with its V10 power and limited-to-500 production number, but we didn’t realize it would go this quickly. AutoNews reported yesterday that all 500 of the $375,000 Japanese supercar have sold and/or leased out. Lexus has received orders and taken down payments on all the LFAs it has committed to producing. Customers were attracted to the LFA due to its originality and the efforts Lexus made to woo buyers.

If you’re hoping to get a second chance in the secondary market, don’t expect  to find one too soon. U.S. customers will all be tied into a two-year lease agreement. [AutoNews via MotorAuthority]

Japanese Rivalry: Godzilla Takes on Lexus LFA

GTR v LFA Japanese Rivalry: Godzilla Takes on Lexus LFA

Well, I have to apologize to our readers. Somehow I managed to miss this intriguing head-to-head last week. But, I’m man enough to admit my mistake and right the wrong, even if it’s a little later than I’d like to admit.

You see, MotorTrend let the Nissan GTR and Lexus LFA go at it on a quarter-mile run and captured the whole thing on video for us all to enjoy. With nearly $300,000 worth of price difference, we know which Japanese sports car should take home the title. But does it? Only one way to find out. The action gets started at 3:09, after a look at the LFA. [via Carscoop]

Lexus Stamps a $70,000 Price Tag on LFA Nürburgring Package

lexus lfa ring Lexus Stamps a $70,000 Price Tag on LFA Nürburgring Package

Serious buyers enamored with the LFA Nürburgring package will be happy (disappointed) to know that Lexus has announced pricing today. The package will cost a $70,000 premium over the $375,000 base price of the LFA. And if you liked the matte black version that showed its stuff at the NY Auto Show, you’ll have to cough up an extra $20K. We knew it wouldn’t be cheap, but we didn’t necessarily expect it to be that steep either.
