Ferrari Fury: Novitec’s Near-900-Hp 599 GTO

novitec rosso 599 2 Ferrari Fury: Novitecs Near 900 Hp 599 GTO

Back when the 599 GTO came out, Ferrari called it the fastest road-going Ferrari ever. Of course, that designation didn’t take extreme tunes into account. And when you take the fastest Ferrari ever and put it through an extreme tune, you have a beast of a car.

Novitec Rosso used two supercharges, a modified exhaust system, an air-to-water intercooler and custom intake manifolds to achieve 888 horses and 636 lb-ft (up from 671 hp and 457 lb-ft) in its 599 GTO tune. That equipment chops .15 seconds off the 0 to 62 mph, which is brought down to 3.2 seconds, and adds 3 mph up to a 211 mph top speed.

ferrari ff Web veil 2 Video: The Ferrari FF Goes Everywhere

Last week, Ferrari held an official unveiling of the FF concept for VIP types. It also provided Web access to the event. Frankly, I thought Ferrari already held a Web unveiling last month, but I guess this one was different.

One way it was different is that it brought the best video clip of the FF yet. A three-minute segment that shows the concept barreling through just about every type of terrain you’d drive on–snow, wet pavement, dirt road, sand, etc. It also shows the FF in a few new colors. It’s a great piece of video that begs to be watched. Jump and it’s all yours. [via Inside Line]

Dog Sledders Film Ferrari FF Testing

Ferrari FF dog sled video Dog Sledders Film Ferrari FF Testing

There’s most certainly a joke about the FF being a dog in here, but I think the story about the best footage yet of the Ferarri FF coming from a dog-sledding duo really outshines any attempt at such a comparison. So right to the story…

Somewhere in the mountains of Europe, Ferrari was doing some testing of its first-ever 4WD, and dog sledders just happened to be passing by and they just happened to have a video camera filming the FF’s every move. While they only got about 30 seconds worth of footage, it’s some of the cleanest shots yet that we’ve seen of Ferrari’s shooting brake. Who knew it would come from mushers?

Hit the break and see what these resourceful sledders were able to come up with. [via GT Spirit]

Ferrari FF 3 Ferrari FF Action Photos Released

We’ve seen a few rather dull studio shots of Ferrari’s shooting brake concept already, but Maranello has upgraded our portfolio with a few pictures of the car doing some time in the snow. The location of the photos provide a reminder that the FF concept will preview Ferrari’s first all-wheel-drive vehicle.

As Ferrari detailed last month, the FF is a sneak peak at the 612 Scaglietti replacement. The four-seat, two-door hatch is powered by a 651-hp 6.3-liter V12 engine and boasts a 3.7-second to 62 mph time and a 208 mph top speed. It’ll debut in Geneva next month. [via WCF]

ferrari ff 21 Ferrari FF In Action

Ferrari introduced its FF shooting brake concept just last Friday. Some will love the hatched-out Ferrari. Some (likely more some) will hate it.

Whatever you feel about the Geneva-bound concept, you have to admit one thing: you’re itching to see it in action. And here’s your Calamine lotion: a video of the FF doing some night testing in Italy. It’s not the hardest hitting action, watching more like a commercial, but it is the first video we’ve seen of the four-wheel drive on the track. Check it out after the break and get more details on the FF from last week. [via WCF]

ferrari ff 2 Ferraris Shooting Brake Revealed in the FF Concept

The concept version of the car that will replace the 612 Scaglietti made its debut earlier today. Officially called the Ferrari FF (four seats, four-wheel-drive), the car will be Ferrari’s first four-wheel-drive production model and will bring a rear hatch to its line. According to Ferrari, its four-wheel drive delivers maximum performance in all conditions thanks to intelligent torque distribution to all four wheels.

That torque will be provided in numbers of up to 504 lb-ft by the FF’s 6.3-liter V12 engine. The engine is slightly less powerful than the rumored 670-hp, but not by much: it will put out up to 651 horses. The car’s rumored performance was right on target: 0-to-62 in 3.7 seconds and 208 mph top speed.

The FF will make its auto show debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Hit the break for a couple of extra pictures and video of the concept. [via InsideLine]

Ferrari 612 rendering Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake Gets Rendered

From the spy shots we know it has a 458′s face and a shooting brake body. But given the heavy camo that it’s been under, we don’t know much else. Filling in the missing pieces, artist Jon Sibal has done an illustration of what he thinks the 612 Scaglietti successor will look like. And in a phrase: we like. Hopefully, Ferrari doesn’t go so smiley on the grille, but other than that, I like what I’m seeing.

599 Testing Is This the Next Gen Ferrari 599? (Video)

Some spy video showing a taped-up 599 model recently hit the Interwebs and has left car fanatics wondering what exactly Ferrari is up to. It’s clear that the model is based on the 599 GTO, but it’s not clear exactly what it is.

With the 599 GTB update (codename: F152) on tap for 2012, it could very well be that model. It could also be a prototype of a hybrid 599, either based on the Geneva-launched Hy-Kers concept or a new version.

Whatever it is, it’s fun to watch. Jump the break and have a look. [via Jalopnik]

Ferrari 458 Challenge Ferrari 458 Challenge Hits the Track

It got all kinds of official just last week, and it didn’t take long to break out of the show circuit and onto the track where it belongs. Ferrari’s new track-only, hardcore 458 is the star of some new video that Ferrari released this week, with both white and red versions hitting the track.

The 458 Challenge is a stripped down, upgraded version of the Ferrari 458 Italia. It has the same 570-hp 4.5-liter V8 engine as the 458 Italia but enjoys a bunch of upgrades including reconfigured gear ratios, upgraded suspension, F1-based traction control, Pirelli R-compound tires and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. It also gets more carbon fiber in the body and Lexan windows.
