Not every car takes to the matte black paint scheme, but the Lotus Exige benefits tremendously. This new, limited-edition Exige is called the Stealth (Japan) or Scura, depending on the market you’re shopping in. Only 35 examples will be built featuring the matte black paint scheme, gloss black racing stripes, and carbon fiber additions including front splitter and airscoops. The Scura, which translates to “dark” in Italian, will also get launch control, traction control and Ohlin dampers, in addition to the top-end Exige 260 hp engine. The special edition drops about 22 pounds from the Exige’s already low weight, making for a 4.1-second 0 to 62. It will be available for order in a number of markets beginning October 21. Unfortunately, the U.S. isn’t included among those markets and Americans will have to settle for getting a look at the Tokyo Motor Show. [via AutoBlog]

Long rumored, the 2010 Lotus Exige Cup 260 is getting closer and closer to a release date. Inspired from its bigger brother, the Lotus Exige GT3 race car, the new Cup 260 is going to be available for the common man with a lightweight body frame that extensively uses carbon fibre. Under the hood there’s a 256hp engine that sends it from naught to 62mph in just 4.1 seconds. Perfect for the track, the new race-ready Lotus Exige Cup 260 also features motorsport lightweight wheels, Ohlins 2-way adjustable dampers and a 30-percent stiffer rear chassis thanks to a structural shear panel and rear diffuser.
