lambo sesto elemento concept Lamborgini Concept Sesto Elemento Leaks Out

Well, I expected to be covering Lamborghini’s last teaser picture a little later today, but lo and behold, the entire concept has leaked out a day ahead of Paris. Serves Lambo right for those brutally unrevealing teasers.

This crinkle cut beauty is the concept car that all the Lambo fuss has been about lately. Called the Sesto Elemento or Sixth Element, the concept reportedly uses head-to-toe carbon fiber design for an extreme weight shaving down to 2,200 lbs. For reference, current Lamborghinis rarely and barely break 3,000 lbs.

Lamboteaser4 Almost There: Lamborghini Teasers 4 and 5

Well, we now have a few more looks at the newest Lamborghini, which is just days away. The most recent prevailing wisdom is that Lamborghini will be launching but one new concept car in Paris. Unfortunately, the Bull hasn’t released any new information about its concept. The two pictures give yet another indication that the car will be a carbon fiber fiesta.

Anyone else getting turned off by Lamborghini’s new trend of the teasers without much teasing? I’m fiending for a front end, shady profile or headlight, even. Hopefully the final teaser will deliver something a little more concrete.

lamborghini concept teaser1 Lamborghini Will Only Show One New Concept in Paris

Rumors, rumors, rumors. The latest indicate that Lamborghini won’t be showing two new models in Paris as speculated earlier this week, but will only show one concept. In other words, there won’t be a Jota unveil.

The report comes from Autoguide, which states that the concept will be a “technology demonstrator,” a description that appears to be in line with Lamborghini’s own teaser statements that the new car will move the Lamborghini brand in a new direction focused on lower weights, increased handling and quicker acceleration.

So, for now, we’re disappointed that a Jota launch is looking unlikely. But, again, it’s just the latest rumor floating around; we won’t know for sure until next week. [via Autoguide]

One of the stars of our Paris Motor Show preview, the Kia Pop can now be seen from more angles thanks to some new photos released by Kia. Some interesting aspects that we didn’t see originally are the diagonally swinging doors that make the concept look even more like a mechanical bug than before and outward swinging hatch that is reminiscent of a door on a clothes dryer. We knew it was a unique-looking, little urban commuter and the new pictures only add to that. [via Motor Trend]

Peugeot EX1 3 Funky Peugeot EX1 Concept Is Worlds Quickest EV

Peugeot announced the EX1 concept today, which will debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month. The open-top concept looks kind of like the front end of a car stuck onto a superbike of some sort, an odd configuration that helps to give it some off-the-charts performance claims. Peugeot says that the car shows the ”exciting possibilities for electric power,” and indeed, a sub-3-second 0 to 62 mph time is an exciting possibility.

Mazda Shinari1 Mazda Shows New Design Language in Paris Concept

Mazda is in the process of shifting design languages from Nagare to the new Kodo…riveting, I know. The company unveiled its first example of the new design language in a concept that it calls the Shinari. While the paradigm shift might not be especially interesting to anyone without a Mazda-sponsored paycheck, the concept is certainly worth a look. A five-door hatchback with the look of a streamlined coupe, the Shinari exemplifies the new focus on “soul of motion.”

AMV-R Supercar Design Study

AMV R Supercar Concept 1 AMV R Supercar Design Study

Take a look at what could be the future of automotive design when today’s generation of bright-eyed design students steps across the line and begins running things. The AMV-R (Automotive Visual Racing)–yeah, name needs work–is a design by Alexei Mikhailov, a student at the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning in Toronto.

It’s a little too derivative of the Ferrari Enzo, if you ask me–not that there’s anything bad about the Enzo, but the styling looks a little recycled. I really like the bow-tie exhaust, though. A few more angles await after the break.
