A while back, we caught wind of the return of the Rambo Lambo. We were more than a little enthused. But some unfortunate details conveyed by Auto Express today, have us doing a rapid 180. It seems that Lamborghini isn’t planning a true LM002 successor, but instead is following the market trend of watering SUVs down into car-based CUVs. While we don’t mind this trend when it comes to the likes of the Ford Explorer, it is completely unbecoming on the LM002–one of the baddest, ruggedest military-inspired off-roaders in history.

The Camaro may not be a Lamborghini, but it is a pretty iconic muscle car all its own. So, if you’re going to kit the thing over to look like something else, at least be sure to do it right.
This owner didn’t do it right. In fact, he did it dead wrong. In what looks like something that was designed out of paper mache for a 5th grade art project, this ugly monster is one car hack’s take on a 1994 Camaro-Z28-based Lamborghini Gallardo. In short, it’s an awful idea with even worse execution. And the name is equally bad: the Rev Angel.

After yesterday’s leak, we figured Lamborghini would have no choice but to unveil its new concept today, and indeed it has. After dropping the sixth and final teaser, which we won’t waste any more time on, Lamborghini released photos and information on the concept.
The Sesto Elemento, which means Sixth Element, uses a carbon fiber monocoque tub and carbon fiber all over–front end frame, body panels, suspension parts, rims–pretty much everywhere you look. As such, it cuts hundreds of pounds over other Lamborghinis and comes in at a featherweight 2,202 lbs. (or 999 kg if you want to be catchy). The 570-hp 5.2-liter V10 engine has no problem pushing that light, skeletal body to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds on up to around 218 mph.

Well, I expected to be covering Lamborghini’s last teaser picture a little later today, but lo and behold, the entire concept has leaked out a day ahead of Paris. Serves Lambo right for those brutally unrevealing teasers.
This crinkle cut beauty is the concept car that all the Lambo fuss has been about lately. Called the Sesto Elemento or Sixth Element, the concept reportedly uses head-to-toe carbon fiber design for an extreme weight shaving down to 2,200 lbs. For reference, current Lamborghinis rarely and barely break 3,000 lbs.

Well, we now have a few more looks at the newest Lamborghini, which is just days away. The most recent prevailing wisdom is that Lamborghini will be launching but one new concept car in Paris. Unfortunately, the Bull hasn’t released any new information about its concept. The two pictures give yet another indication that the car will be a carbon fiber fiesta.
Anyone else getting turned off by Lamborghini’s new trend of the teasers without much teasing? I’m fiending for a front end, shady profile or headlight, even. Hopefully the final teaser will deliver something a little more concrete.

Lamborghini has teamed up with one of its Super Trofeo sponsors for a new limited edition Gallardo. The street-legal Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain is inspired (and modeled after) Lamborghini’s racing cars and includes some props to Swiss watchmaker Blancpain.
The engine of the special edition is the race-spec 570-hp 5.2-liter V10 engine. Lamborghini cut weight by about 500 lbs. using carbon fiber pieces like rear diffuser and mirror casings. As a result, the upgraded Gallardo makes it to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and tops out around 200 mph.
Other notable upgrades include the racing engine cover and rear wing.

Rumors, rumors, rumors. The latest indicate that Lamborghini won’t be showing two new models in Paris as speculated earlier this week, but will only show one concept. In other words, there won’t be a Jota unveil.
The report comes from Autoguide, which states that the concept will be a “technology demonstrator,” a description that appears to be in line with Lamborghini’s own teaser statements that the new car will move the Lamborghini brand in a new direction focused on lower weights, increased handling and quicker acceleration.
So, for now, we’re disappointed that a Jota launch is looking unlikely. But, again, it’s just the latest rumor floating around; we won’t know for sure until next week. [via Autoguide]

Some hard-working photographers managed to snag a number of pictures of the upcoming Lamborghini Jota testing at Nurburgring. Seen testing in both rear-winged Superleggera trim and standard, non-winged trim, the Jota showed off its bullet-like, side-intaked, muscular beauty.
New information this week suggests that the Jota will get a 715-hp V12 engine. Top speed is expected to be around 230 mph.
The Jota should be lighter than the Murcielago, demonstrating Lambo’s new fixation on carbon fiber and cutting weight. It’s thought to be one of two new cars/concepts that Lamborghini will show to dealers this week, and it may make its world debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. [via WCF]

We’ve been following Lamborghinis tease campaign (the latest of which is above) for a few weeks now and the more information we get about the new car, the less it looks like the Jota. A report today on 0-60 magazine states that the explanation for this may be that two Lamborghinis are coming to the Paris Motor Show.
The report is based around a leaked document that shows that Lamborghini will be unveiling two cars at a dealer meeting before Paris. The cars are labeled the LB715-5, thought to be a 715-hp V12-powered Jota, and a wild card: the 83X.
