Sharp Rocky Mountain peaks meet bluebird skies on one of Colorado’s 300 annual days of sunshine. And the driver of this cherry red Bentley Supersports drop-top takes full advantage. It’s two minutes of blissful video that makes us all wish we had worked just a little harder in college or chosen a more lucrative occupation. There are also some new photos to enjoy, so see what the open-air version of the 621-hp Supersports has to offer. [via MotorAuthority]

Touring Superleggera Continental Flying Star
A new Autocar article citing “sources at the highest level” of Bentley indicates that Bentley is chewing on the idea of a five-door fastback in the same vein as the Porsche Panamera. The conversation is part of a larger discussion on whether the company needs to expand the Continental line past the models already offered. The five-door Contlimera is said to be the most popular of potential additions. Before a five-door becomes a reality, a new GT coupe is expected to launch with a market date of 2012.
Frankly, a Continental five-door makes more sense to me than the Porsche version. [via Autocar]

Who in their right mind takes a Bentley Continental GT muddin’? Apparently some bored Russian folk. In what looks like the mud pit of a local Renaissance festival, some guy got the $200,000 car stuck in about six inches of mud. Surprisingly, the owner doesn’t appear to be the guy rolling and flopping around like a drunken hog, but we’re guessing that he too had a few too many vwodkas. He actually manages to get the car out of the pit eventually.
Looks like this guy needs some driving lessons, because the entire passenger side rear is also smashed up. [via Carscoop]

We’ve already seen the Bentley Mulsanne from just about every possible angle, except for the one that we most want to see: driving around on scenic highways. Now, that problem is officially in the past.
Bentley released some video of the Mulsanne taking a relaxing drive through the Scotland for a perfect pairing of natural and manmade scenery. It’s not full-fledged track acceleration, but it’s pretty easy on the eyes.
Word to the wise: hit the mute button before the play button on this one, unless you like glass-shatteringly high-pitched singing. [via WCF]

Not content with the 550 to 600 horses Bentley pulled out of its twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine, German tuner Wheelsandmore has created the not-so-delicately-named Wheelsandmore Bentley Continental Ultrasports 702. We like the Ultrasports designation, we just wish it didn’t take so long to get there.

Two weeks ago, we saw the meticulous care that went into the design of the interior of the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne, the kind of meticulous care that you’d expect when laying down nearly $300K on a car. While we haven’t featured the entire six-part series, we thought it only proper to feature the last piece of the video behind-the-scenes, which shows the final testing that the Mulsanne undergoes before heading out into the hands of its tycoon owner. Watch the “hands and the eyes” of the customer do their final walk-through after the break. [via MotorAuthority]

Appealing to wealthy Chinese consumers at the Beijing Auto Show, Bentley has introduced two new Continental special editions that it calls the Design Series China. As one might expect from the name, the new Continental GT and Continental Flying Spur Speed are distinguished largely by cosmetic changes. You can see the Orange and Magenta exterior colors, which make their debut on the Design Series China models. Inside, the cars get a unique, three-toned leather interior with accent and insert colors.
Not much changes in terms of specs, but the two models do benefit from a comfort suspension setting. Enjoy a full look after the button. [via MotorAuthority]

Bentley held its press conference today at the New York Auto Show and key to its presentation was the new 2011 Continental Supersports Convertible, all dressed up in a light-yellow paint scheme that we’re fondly calling banana split. The Supersports is Bentley’s most powerful convertible ever, featuring a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine good for 612 horses. Like all 2011 Continentals, the convertible is flex-fuel capable, running on gasoline, E85 bioethanol or a combination thereof.
The Continental Supersports Convertible will be priced from $280,400 and will be landing in dealers this summer. [via Auto123]
