Design firm Bertone has added its own take on 100th anniversary Alfa Romeo styling to the Pininfarina 2uettottanta concept that we featured yesterday. Slightly longer and wider than the Pininfarina, but also lower, the Pandion sits at 4620 mm x 1971 mm x 1230 mm (l x w x h) with a 2,850 mm wheelbase. The car is driven by a 450 hp 4.7-liter Alfa Romeo V8.

The first car design project under the direction of new Design and Brand Director Mike Robinson takes inspiration from the feathered world. Pandion Haliaetusis the scientific name for an osprey, which is where the vehicle pulls its swooping glass doors and angular facial characteristics from.

Citroen Survolt Concept Stuns in Switzerland

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 8:00AM - By

French automaker Citroen isn’t exactly a household name here in the States, but after this Survolt concept, it probably will be–at least for a few days. One of the true stunners on display at the Geneva Motor Show, the concept is a style-conscious, efficient all-out performer that merges power, design and all-electric driving.

Luckily for Citroen, the car looks good because it didn’t give us much to go on outside a couple handfuls worth of promises. The company says that it offers a ”motor racing punch” but doesn’t weigh itself down with acceleration or top speed figures. The company didn’t get too specific on the powertrain either, stating only that it is an evolution of last year’s Revolte hybrid concept, a typical rechargeable hybrid system with all-electric driving mode.

Infiniti M35 Hybrid Infiniti Launches M35 Hybrid Sedan

Hybrids aren’t exactly unique at the Geneva Motor Show, but they’re positive nonetheless. Infiniti used the show to launch the hybrid version of its M35 sedan called the M35 Hybrid. The car is Infiniti’s first hybrid vehicle and will also represent Nissan’s first hybrid system designed totally in-house.

The M35 keeps the M sedan’s 3.5-liter V6 engine and adds a 68 hp electric motor and hybrid drive system, which is billed as “Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid”. The rear-wheel-drive car features a twin-clutch and lithium-ion battery pack.

The M35 Hybrid will hit the market in spring of 2011. [via LeftLaneNews]

Touring Bentley Flying Star Touring Superleggera Bentley Flying Star by Touring Debuts

The brand-new Bentley Continental Flying Star brings our mind to a certain place–perhaps, cruising to a luxury hotel with a hatch full of scuba and windsurfing gear to share an evening with an international supermodel. Yes, it is overflowing with style and class.

Italian firm Touring Superleggera presented the shooting brake today at Geneva. The car was crafted at the behest of a nameless but distinguished customer that Touring calls “an avid and passionate collector, with a taste for special coach building”.

One Ugly Mug: The Near-$1M Hispano Suiza

hispano suiza2 One Ugly Mug: The Near $1M Hispano Suiza

Hispano Suiza may sound more like a bottle of mezcal, but it’s actually a recently revived car badge that presented this monstrosity for the Geneva Motor Show. After decades worth of absence, they might have considered taking an extra year or two to refine this design. From certain angles, the Suiza, which is based on an Audi R8, doesn’t look that bad, but stare it directly in the eyes and you can feel your soul being pulled from your body.

Ferrari’s much-whispered-about hybrid 599 concept is here and it comes with plenty of consonants and vowels: the 599 Hy-KERS vettura laboratorio. We already knew the basics of the hybrid system, but Ferrari has filled in some of the question marks that were left behind. Inspired by F1 technology, Ferrari mates a 100 hp electric motor mounted on the back of the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to the 599′s 6.0-liter V12.  The lithium-ion battery pack is mounted beneath the floor.

If Geneva is any indication, there’s clearly no world shortage on carbon fiber. Bugatti unveiled a stunning Grand Sport that gets carbon fiber up and down, front to back. The carbon fiber is covered with a clearcoat and accented with plenty of sparkling aluminum, providing a shimmering exterior that you could fix your hair in if you weren’t so busy staring with your jaw in your chest.  [via AutoBlog]

Pininfarina Alfa Romeo Spider Pininfarinas Alfa Romeo Concept Debuts in Geneva

Once just a vague sketch on canvas, the Pininfarina Alfa Romeo concept is finally out in the open. From a distance, it looks a little too Miata-esque, but get closer and the distinct grille lets you know that it’s nothing but Alfa. A joint celebration of Alfa Romeo’s 100th birthday and Pininfarina’s 80th, the concept bears the unfortunate, garbled name of 2uettottanta. It  is a potential design for a Spider replacement.

Pininfarina envisions power for a production 2uettottanta coming from a 1,750cc turbocharged 4-cylinder. The car measures  4,212.6 mm x 1,797 mm wide x 1,280 mm (l x w x h) and has a 2,500 mm wheelbase.

Take a tour in the gallery below and get ready to compare this one to the other two Alfa Romeo concepts coming at Geneva. [via Carscoop]

Lotus Evora Carbon Lotus Presents Evora Carbon Concept

Outfitting a car in generous servings of carbon fiber is always an action we stand behind, and that is especially true when its a car as small and sporty as the Lotus Evora. Specifically, the Evora Carbon Concept gets a carbon fiber roof, rear diffuser and splitter. Providing a bit more for the eyes, Lotus chose to contrast against the carbon fiber using a water-based white pearlescent paint that provides a distinctive black-and-white theme. The car sits on diamond-cut forged 19-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires on top.
