Tesla Sport SolarCity Builds Tesla Charging Stations in California

Preparing for the energy needs of the upcoming Tesla Roadster, SolarCity has installed four electric charging stations on Highway 101 between San Francisco and Los Angeles, a route that will undoubtedly see plenty of Tesla traffic. Each station will charge the Tesla to full capacity in three and a half hours. Currently, the charging stations are only compatible with the Tesla Roadster, but SolarCity has plans to upgrade them for use with other EVs. One of the charging stations operates from solar power, providing a fully clean alternative for fueling up. A fifth station is in the works for next month and will be located in Goleta.
