all this means is that Chrysler had better technology in certain aspects of the 300C than what maserati was working with. its still gonna be a maserati.

No you are completely wrong fortunately. It is not the next generation of "Quattroporte" to (probably) share the 300C base, BUT a smaller model set to be in the segment of Bmw 7/ Mercedes E Klasse and Audi A8. Not the Quattroporte right? Hopefully this is just a rumor.

This would be the biggest mistake in automotive history. The current Maserati platform is working well, thank you very much. What could Maserati gain by building the next generation QT on a Chrysler 300 platform? The 300 is a nice car, yes, but to pair it with a Maserati? Come guys. Don't revert back to your "fix-it0again-tony" days. Chris, you are right. Perhaps between now and their press conference, they will have regained control of their senses.
