R Mode Return of Launch Control: 2012 Nissan GT R To Break 3 Seconds to 60 MPH

After removing the launch control feature known as VDC Off back in 2009, Nissan has a take two for launch control that it’s calling “R Mode Start Function.” This detail thanks to an owner’s manual that leaked onĀ  North American GT-R Owner’s Club.

The manual page (pictured above) provides the full run-down on how to use the feature, but the most interesting aspect is that it’s expected to boost the GT-R’s acceleration time to around 3 seconds to 62 mph, meaning a sub-3-second 0-to-60 mph time. And that will put the GT-R in even more prestigious company than it’s already in. [via Motor Trend]
