Processor Power Meets Horsepower: Ferrari/Acer Cell Phone
By Chris Weiss
Cross branding between the automotive and tech markets is nothing new. Not long ago, we saw a hideously obese cell phone that dared call itself a Lamborghini. As part of the Mobile World Congress going on today, electronics manufacturer Acer provided some details on its joint-venture phone with Ferrari. The company will release a Ferrari-branded phone in March that will feature Google’s Android 2.1 operating system and a variety of design influences from the boys in Maranello. Unfortunately, they failed to provide a picture, but after that TAG Heuer/Lamborghini disaster, we might be better off without them.
So if you’re lifelong dream has been to own a Ferrari, and an overpriced gimmick-phone is more of a realistic option than a 458, you can get your own prancing horse next month.
