Pininfarina BlueCar to be Road Ready by 2011
By Alex Ion
Pininfarina has joined hands with “French industrialist, corporate raider and businessman” Vincent Bollore to get the company’s electric BlueCar on the roads before 2011. Although there are talks concerning batteries, the Italian manufacturer said that 6,000 units have already been ordered. Introduced earlier this year in Geneva, the compact 5-door BlueCar should run on Lithium Metal Polymere batteries and solar panels that helps the car reach a decent 250 km range on a full charge — charge that takes only a few hours when plugged into a 230-volt outlet. We’re tempted! [via WCF]
