G-Power announced today what it’s calling the world’s fastest sedan. The German tuner turned the BMW M5 into an 800-hp beast known as the Hurricane RR, and captured a track time of 231.2 mph–in a two-ton sedan! While it doesn’t appear the time was independently verified, that’s still a lot of mph’s for a four-door.

Look quickly at the picture above and you might think you’re looking at a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. In fact, stare at it for a few minutes, and you’ll think the same. That’s because there’s not much new going on outside. The major exterior change is that Sahara models get a body-color hard top.
The focus of the redesigned Wrangler models, which hit production this week, is on the other side of the doors, with brand-new interiors that feature upgraded materials; steering-wheel mounted controls for audio, Bluetooth and cruise control; new instrument panel and a new lockable console. The new Wrangler will also feature a USB port and a number of new colors: Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright White. See a few of those after the jump. Bentley will be dropping its redesigned Continental GT in a couple of weeks (Sept. 7) over the Internet and live at the Paris Motor Show in late-September. Whetting our appetite, Bentley has launched a new microsite with a short, 43-second teaser video of the new car. The video shows some fleeting glimpses of the actual car as well as some behind the scenes renderings.
In addition to some minor cosmetics, the redesigned Continental GT is expected to get some nominal performance upgrades to its 6.0-liter W12 engine, along with a little load lightening thanks to an aluminum spaceframe. [via Autoweek and Top Speed]

By now, you should know all you need to know about the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. If not, you can familiarize yourself here. The story here is the studio shots of the suped-up Veyron in the fetching blue carbon fiber suit that it sported in Pebble Beach. It’s quite an upgrade from the original orange and black motif, isn’t it? More after the break… [via Carscoop]

Researchers at Scotland’s Edinburgh Napier University have come up with an interesting fuel–whiskey waste. At the university’s Biofuel Research Center, the researchers have successfully made a type of fuel called biobutanol using waste products–pot ale and draff–created in the distillation process. Not only does the new fuel come from byproducts, but it provides 30 percent more output power than ethanol and can be used to fuel regular gasoline engines without any modification.
Those involved are now moving to create a company and get the fuel to market.
In the future, you still won’t be able to drive after a couple of Dewar’s, but your car will be. [via BBC]

Shelby supercars new Ultimate Aero actually debuted a few weeks ago, if you were lucky enough to attend the company’s private event in Seattle. At least we assume so. That’s what the company had planned, but of course, none of those guests are really talking, and SSC didn’t allow any picture-taking at the event so the rest of us don’t know much of anything. Luckily, we only have a few more weeks before we get a more complete look.

Not two months ago, Bugatti driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel made a little news when he took a drive around Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien track. That little drive ended with the Veyron Super Sport becoming the fastest production car on the face of the Earth, with a 268-mph run.
While the world was focused on the car, there was another sexy piece of hardware in the mix. Raphanel wore a special edition luxury watch by Parmigiani.
Now you too can own what Parmigiani calls the “fastest watch in the world.” And by you, I mean a tiny percentage of people that are extremely wealthy. Because the watch costs $259,000 and only 200 will be built.

After a small teasing campaign, Morgan unveiled its all new Eva GT grand tourer this past weekend in Pebble Beach. Overall a little more sporty and modern than we were expecting, the Eva GT is a four-seater with room for luggage in back.
The car features a 302-hp BMW twin-turbo straight six and choice of a six-speed ZF automatic or six-speed manual. Combine that powertrain with the low, 2,750-pound weight accomplished with an aluminum chassis and body panels, and the Eva GT delivers drivers to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds on its way to 170 mph. The 40 mpg rating given by Morgan is pretty nice too.

The last makeover of the Dodge Durango really didn’t go so well, in my opinion. The Dodge SUV went from being one of the better looking, more sculpted SUVs on the market to just another ugly box, when it was restyled back in the 2004 model year.
Well, there’s some new hope now that the third-generation Durango is on the way. A spy shot from a couple of weeks ago revealed a car with more angles and curves and a rather attractive front end. Today, Dodge revealed some official teaser pics and video of the new Durango, depicting the classic grille, sculpted sides and a chromed out nameplate out back.
