One Ugly Mug: The Near-$1M Hispano Suiza

Hispano Suiza may sound more like a bottle of mezcal, but it’s actually a recently revived car badge that presented this monstrosity for the Geneva Motor Show. After decades worth of absence, they might have considered taking an extra year or two to refine this design. From certain angles, the Suiza, which is based on an Audi R8, doesn’t look that bad, but stare it directly in the eyes and you can feel your soul being pulled from your body.
Hispano Suiza (name of both car and carmaker) adds dual superchargers to the R8′s V10 engine, jacking up power by over 200 hp to 739 hp. The Suiza tears to 60 in just 3.4 seconds and doesn’t stop until the needle points to 211. That’s impressive, but it’s still not fast enough to shed the ugly off.
Hispano Suiza plans to offer 25 to 50 models annually for the you-must-have-lost-it price of $949,000. Good luck with that. [via Jalopnik]
