NLV Quant 3 NLV Quant Electric Supercar In Geneva

Looking at the NLV Quant, you might not necessarily get the immediate idea of Bugatti-esque speed and power, but that’s exactly what the Quant promises. Oh, and it does so with an all-electric set-up.

Originally a joint venture between Koenigsegg and NLV Solar AG, the Quant promises to set the bar for electric sports cars. The car is powered by a combination of four electric motors attached to either a metal-air battery or rechargeable redox flow cell. A separate power system fueled by photovoltaic film on the exterior powers the car’s electronics and provides additional support to the main battery. Output is given at 800 hp with 1107 lb-ft.

As far as composition, the Quant features a carbon fiber chassis that helps to provide a total curb weight of around 3,700 pounds. The car is a four-seater with two pretty huge gullwing doors.

The press release provides the we’ll-believe-it-when-we-see-it figures of 2.8-second 0 to 62 mph and 234 mph top speed. The superelectric is expected to be production-ready for next year. We’ll believe that when we see it too.
