After a rather frustrating Paris teaser, Nissan released the details of the 2012 GT-R, which will debut at the LA Auto Show next month. The most intriguing part of the new, improved Godzilla is the addition of horsepower and torque. The same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine now puts out 523-hp (up from 485) and 451 lb-ft (from 434). The new front fascia, which includes LED running lights and straked bumper, helps the GT-R decrease drag while the new rear fascia increases downforce by 10 percent. Other upgrades include improved suspension and braking.

Nissan hasn’t yet spilled the beans on how the GT-R’s improvements will affect its acceleration and top speed, but Motor Trend reports that the new GT-R has shaved two seconds off its Nurburgring time with a 7:24 run in wet conditions. So it looks like Godzilla is up for more destruction. [via AutoShopper and Motor Trend]
