Well, it’s official: Nissan will have one of the oddest production cars on the market beginning next year. The company issued a statement that the Murano convertible rumored for years will be called the Murano CrossCabriolet and will go on sale early next year as a 2012 model. It will first debut at the LA Auto Show in November.
Nissan didn’t offer much information about the drop-top outside of stating that it will include a premium interior and hold up to four adults with luggage in the back.
It will be joined by a sedan concept called the Ellure, the production version of the Leaf EV and a new Quest minivan–but let’s face it, all eyes are going to be on the Murano rag-top.
The Murano CrossCabriolet will be the only crossover convertible on the market when it debuts, and arguably, the first true crossover convertible ever produced. [via MotorWard]
