Nissan and Chrysler have cancelled a deal to base the next Nissan Titan on the Dodge Ram. The announcement came among three total cooperative program cancellations. The other two were Nissan providing Chrysler a small sedan for the South American market this year and one for global markets for 2010. In a statement issued by Nissan and Chrysler, they explained the motivation behind the decision: “For the past several months, teams from both companies have been studying the viability of the projects in light of significant changes in business conditions since the projects were announced in January and April of 2008. Today, it was decided it was in the best interests of both companies to end the projects.” [Pickuptrucks.com via Jalopnik]
