Next-Generation Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Spotted During Testing

Spied in Maranello, this Ferrari is a rough version of a fully-updated 612 Scaglietti making its way to the streets as a 2012 model. Changes from the current 612 include longer wheelbase, extended front end and modified exhaust. The bump in the hood is another noticeable alteration. The new 612 isn’t expected to hit the scene until late 2011 and little details are known about what will power it. However, industry speculation is that it will get a new, greener V12 that cuts carbon emissions by 40% over the current engine. The new powerplant is expected to greatly boost the driving efficiency–from 11.5 to 19 mpg. Rumors also point to the possilbity of a new 4WD system and hybrid version. [via Motor Authority]
