New Special Edition Exige For Lotus’s F1 Return

It seems that Lotus likes its special edition Exiges. The latest is the S Type 72, which is designed in recognition of Lotus’s return to F1 racing after a 15-year layoff. The new Exige celebrates the present while giving a nod to the past in taking inspiration from the dominating Type 72 racer of the 1970′s.
Nothing new to report performance-wise, but the S Type 72 clearly packs some impressive new looks. Lotus decks the Exige out with a black-and-gold paint scheme and upgrades it with the sport pack, which includes ProBax microfiber sport seats, twin oil coolers and Lotus Traction Control.
Only 20 of the S Type 72s will be offered in the U.K. with another 20 heading across the water to mainland Europe. Lotus also mentions sending a select few to Japan and other markets around the globe. [via AutoBlog]
