With the Bugatti Veyron squarely in its sights, Ferrari is reportedly working on the Ferrari of all Ferraris. Known as the F70, the new Ferrari is said to be quicker, smaller, lighter and more fuel efficient than the timeless Enzo. The supercar is expected to feature a twin-turbo V8 engine with output in the 660 hp range. The car won’t disappoint its hyped up billing and is expected to run the 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds and deliver a top speed over 230 mph.

Design-wise, the F70 will reportedly borrow from the FXX. It will also get a little extra electricity flowing through its core–not for efficiency, but to increase speeds of the turbos.

Production is expected to begin in 2012 with 399 units being pumped out.

With other high-performance supercars like the Ferrari 599 GTO and Lamborghini Urus also in the rumor mill, it should prove to be a very interesting couple of years.
