According to the Detroit Free Press, four more manufacturers are scheduled to appear at January’s North American International Auto Show than the previous show. Senior co-chair of the show Doug Fox reported that 54 automakers have made commitments to take part in the show.

More interesting than the number of total commitments is that many notable automakers will be taking part in the most minimal of ways. Show-making luxury and sports car manufacturers including Aston Martin, Ferrari, Rolls Royce and Lamborghini won’t be displaying on the show floor and will only be participating in an American Express-sponsored, invite-only affair at the MGM Grand. Some of the 54 automakers will also only be participating in the Electric Avenue section of the show. [via Detroit Free Press]
