Mini Coupe Concept Unveiled
By Chris Weiss
Mini is celebrating its official 50th anniversary today with this 2009 Mini Coupe Concept. It will go on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a couple of weeks and rumor has it that an open-top roadster concept will be right next to it. The concept features a John Cooper Works-tuned 1.6-liter turbocharged gas engine that brings 211 hp and 192 lb.-ft. of torque. In case you’re wondering about that awkward-looking roof–it’s a lightweight aluminum roof designed to lower the center of gravity. Overall, the two-seater brings a sportier, more agile look to the Mini Cooper hatch. Mini has hinted that we may see a production version down the line. Decide if you dig it by eyeing it from every angle in the gallery below. [via Motor Authority]
