Mercedes Will Put Double the Money Into Green Tech
Mar 09, 2010 - By Chris Weiss
According to a recent report in Automotive News, Mercedes-Benz will see its current investment in green tech double over the next two years. The company will expand plug-ins and fuel-cell vehicles to every segment during this time, demonstrating a clear commitment to green tech. Included in its plans are electric variants of its A subcompacts and B compacts and hybrids for its S- and E-classes. It also plans to develop many components in house.
As we’d heard before, Mercedes plans on developing modular platforms capable of housing hybrid, gas, diesel and fuel-cell powertrains.
If the new cars look anything like the F800, we’re all in. [Automotive News via egmCarTech]
