SLS AMG Roadster render 2 Mercedes SLS AMG Going Topless?

The tires of the Mercedes SLS AMG are barely even dirty from its stint at Frankfurt and already rumors about a convertible version are running wild. It’s expected that the SLS AMG Roadster could be released in late 2011 as a 2012 model. What’s not known is whether the roadster will feature a folding hard-top like the Mercedes SL convertible or a soft-top intended to lower weight. The powertrain should be identical to the SLS AMG–6.2-liter V8 and seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission–while the price tag will likely be slightly higher than the 177, 310-euro tag of the hard-top. While the gullwing doors will certainly be missed, you simply can’t argue with the open air. Enjoy some renderings and spy shots in the gallery below. [via Motor Authority]
