Mercedes SLS AMG ‘Desert Gold’
By Chris WeissThe Mercedes SLS AMG hasn’t even hit highways yet and already someone has chosen to create a deafening gold version of it. That someone is Mercedes. Yes, the German automaker decided to save owners and tuning houses a little trouble and offer a blinged-out, matte-gold SLS AMG all its own for the Dubai Motor Show. As could be expected, the flashy gold scheme doesn’t aid the aesthetics of the upcoming supercar in the least.
Mercedes offsets the tacky gold paint job with a more rational black paint choice in areas like the Mercedes symbol on the grill and the alloy wheels. The interior remains standard with black leather and carbon fiber trim.
Mercedes created the AMG Desert Gold as a one-off show car but has left the door open for offering the option if ample interest is there. [via Carscoop]

Oh no the gold does look tacky. A smart mat black or charcoal would be perfect, but then so would white just not gold or silver.
