Mercedes-Benz Puts the Apple iPad to Work

We’ve already seen an automotive iPad app or two, but Mercedes-Benz Financial is taking Apple’s tablet to new places in instigating its use in the financing process. 40 Mercedes dealers will be equipped with iPads, which will carry financial software and help to streamline the credit approval process. IPads will also enable Mercedes dealers to handle tasks like lease returns wirelessly, helping to cut time and accommodate customers.
Andreas Hinrichs, vice president of marketing for Mercedes-Benz Financial said of the program:”We see the iPad providing wireless mobility, information and flexibility on the showroom floor. The iPad will provide a competitive advantage to our dealers by increasing their service levels through a more flexible financing process.”
After the 40-dealer trial, Mercedes may implement the program company-wide. [via InsideLine]
