Mazda Shows New Design Language in Paris Concept
By Chris Weiss
Mazda is in the process of shifting design languages from Nagare to the new Kodo…riveting, I know. The company unveiled its first example of the new design language in a concept that it calls the Shinari. While the paradigm shift might not be especially interesting to anyone without a Mazda-sponsored paycheck, the concept is certainly worth a look. A five-door hatchback with the look of a streamlined coupe, the Shinari exemplifies the new focus on “soul of motion.”
Mazda hasn’t given any word of when the new design language will make its way into an actual production car, but has indicated that it is more than just a concept and will influence future market designs. So far, we like what we see.
Mazda unveiled the concept at a design event in Milan and will be showing it at the Paris Motor Show. [via Autocar]
