Mazda 2 Coming to the States Next Year

Mazda has confirmed that its Mazda2 subcompact will be available here in the U.S. in late 2010. Based on the same B-segment structure as the Ford Fiesta, the Mazda2 has enjoyed much success and publicity in other countries around the world and looks to break into the hungry U.S. market. In regard to the car, North American Operations’ president and CEO Jim O’Sullivan said: “Mazda2 will be true to everything that makes our cars stand apart from the competition: it will be stylish, fun-to-drive and a heck of a value. In short, it will be Zoom Zoom.” No additional specs or information on the North American Mazda2 were released, and Mazda is saving the details for the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. [via RideLust]
