Lingenfelter Transforms Camaro Into 1970 Trans Am With 455 T/A Concept
By Chris WeissWhile Pontiac winds down toward oblivion, there’s no reason fans can’t enjoy memories of their sportiest releases. For SEMA, Lingenfelter is parading this new 455 T/A concept, which decks out the Camaro SS in 1970 Trans Am costume jewelry. To deliver the Trans Am look, Lingenfelter added a new front fascia, revised hood, modified rear quarter panels, 20-inch honeycomb wheels and new lights in front and back. Mechanically, Lingenfelter uses an aluminum 455-cubic-inch V8 with 11.5:1 compression ratio to add over 200 horses to the stock Camaro SS’s figures (up to 655 hp). While it looks a bit forced, as any car pretending to be another is sure to, the concept certainly delivers a needed throwback to the classic Trans Am. [via Car and Driver]
