Lexus LF-A Debuts in Tokyo
By Alex Ion
Last month we caught wind that Lexus was gearing up for the Tokyo Motor Show to debut their LF-A Supercar to the masses. Now, Toyota has officially removed the wraps from their exciting LFA model just hours ago. Under the hood there’s a high-output 4.8-liter 72-degree V10 engine that delivers a massive 560 hp at 8,700 RPM and 354 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,800 RPM. Joined with performance-minded aerodynamic and chassis design characteristics, there’s also a six-speed sequential gearbox that helps the Lexus LF-A sprint to 62mph in a mere 3.7 seconds and to achieve a max speed of 201.94 mph. A true supercar.
Design wise, the LF-A comes with a CFRB (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic) body that makes it 100kg lighter than a comparable aluminum body. On top of that there are 20-inch BBS wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires to get the eyes with.
Titanium valves, connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, dry sump lubrication and a titanium exhaust manifold, only 500 models of the new Lexus LF-A will ever hit the road. We’re sold! [via Autoblog]
