Lexus CT 200h Makes Official Appearance
By Chris Weiss
Having its hand tipped early, Lexus has made the CT 200h hybrid official. The polished-up production version of the LF-Ch concept delivers its hybrid ride through a combination of a 1.8-liter VVT-i and electric motor matched to a continuously variable transmission. For now, Lexus is simply calling it a “powerful but compact” electric motor without going into further detail. Drivers can enjoy that package in four different driving modes: Sport, ECO, Normal and EV. The EV mode is far from the most generous we’ve seen, providing 1.2 miles at up to 28 mph.
In terms of styling, Lexus sought to stay true to the LF-Ch concept while refining the look and providing for maximum aerodynamics. The CT 200h retains a strong front grille inspired by the concept and features LED daytime running lamps. Inside, Lexus has outfitted the hybrid with a dual-zone dashboard complete with a Display Zone (8-inch LCD multi-display) and a lower Operation Zone, housing the shift lever and controls.
We had pretty much all of that after the leak earlier in the week, but what we didn’t have was quality pics. Kick the tires on this one below. [via AutoBlog]
