I’m Going to Disney World! In My Brand New 2011 Camaro Convertible!
By Chris Weiss
Super Bowl XLV marks the return of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 2009 Super Bowl winners, and it marks the return of GM. Formerly a major supporter of the event, GM has been absent for the past two years due to its financial turmoil. Last year, the company put the kibosh on its tradition of awarding the Super Bowl MVP a Cadillac, giving Drew Brees the shaft.
This year, though, things must be looking up because GM is coming back to the Bowl in a big way. Specifically, it’s going all Chevy.
The MVP will be awarded a 2011 Chevy Camaro–a car that will launch the very same month–and will be able to equip it to his heart’s content.
Additionally, GM plans a series of six ads for game day–5 during the game and one after it. Chevy will be the focus of each and every one of those ads, with cars like the Cruze, Volt, Camaro drop-top and Silverado HD being pushed to the massive crowd of television viewers. [via InsideLine]
