Gumpert To Introduce 2nd Model in Geneva
By Chris Weiss
The Gumpert Apollo is a muscular, menacing, all-out supercar and it’s about to get a younger brother. According to Autocar, Gumpert plans on introducing a two-seat ‘fast tourer’ at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. That model was developed with the help of Touring Superleggera and is known as the Gumpert Tornante by Touring.
Few details have yet to surface about the car, but it will likely feature a tuned version of the Apollo’s 650-hp 4.2-liter V8 engine and will get a new carbon fiber monocoque tub. It was designed to bring “space, liveability and comfort to Gumpert’s typical sheer performance attitude,” and promises to be an exciting combination of German engineering and Italian styling.
