GM May Allow ZR1 Buyers to Build Their Own Engines

According to an intriguing piece on Jalopnik, GM is considering initiating a new program whereby Corvette ZR1 buyers could work with the company and build their own engines. As the story goes, a GM official mentioned the idea at an informal event in Detroit, so it sounds about as solid as the four-door Corvette. However, Jalopnik later confirmed it with GM’s Tom Read who works with the company’s Advanced Powertrain Technology Communications.
It’s just under consideration right now, but it certainly sounds like another possible step in the right direction for GM.
