Frankfurt Motor Show: 10 Sexy Car Debuts at Frankfurt 2009 – The Frankfurt Motor Show is the place where automotive legends are revealed to the world. From the lustiest Lamborghinis to the fastest Ferraris, the boldest BMWs to the meanest Maseratis– they first see the light of the press in Frankfurt. To get the jump on their competition, most manufacturers show their cards before the Frankfurt Motor Show even kicks off. To show you what is going to be hot at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, here are the 10 sexiest cars that will be shown at one of the greatest auto shows on the planet.
Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

One of the world’s most expensive automobiles will go convertible at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009. The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster will be officially revealed to show goers in Frankfurt, the first in-the-flesh showoff since this roadster was teased many weeks ago. This new Lamborghini Reventon will be powered by a 650HP V12 engine, capable of breaking speeds of 211 MPH on the top end, making its way to 60 in just shy of 3.4 seconds. Like it’s hard top version, the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is pricey as hell– costing $1.75 million to the buyers of the 20 of these Lambo’s that will see production.

Audi R8 Spider Convertible

Like the Lamborghini above, Audi will be showing off it’s own topless beauty at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Audi R8 Spider Convertible is all business under the hood, but it’s top side is nothing but party. A supercar in its own light, this V10-powered R8 is competitive on the track, with a full 525HP and a screaming speed pushing 200mph. A suggestion– if you’re going to try those speeds, either put the top up… or prepare for early male-pattern baldness.

2010 Rolls Royce Ghost

Rolls Royce has a paranormal offering for Frankfurt this year. The 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost continues the mark’s focus on both luxury and performance in one royal product. The new Rolls Royce Ghost is powered by a 563HP, 6.6L V12 engine capable of a modest 4.7 second liftoff to 60mph, but is geared toward high performance on the high end. Speaking of high end, you won’t drive one of these out of the showroom for less than $250k. Worth it? Just ask any Rolls owner…

Mini Coupe Concept

The Mini Cooper brand celebrated it’s 50th anniversary recently with the revelation of the new Mini Coupe Concept. This stylish upgrade to the speedy Mini included a 1.6L turbocharged engine capable of 211 horsepower– more than enough for a speedy little devil not packing a lot of weight. The Mini is due for a production upgrade, so if this concept sees the factory it’ll make Mini fans and new prospective buyers quite fulfilled.

Maserati GranCabrio

You may have noticed a common element to the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show– all the top luxury and performance automakers are chopping their tops off. Maserati is amongst the forefront of this trend, showing off their new Maserati GranCabrio long before the other automakers showed their own cards. The Maserati GranCabrio is a convertible version of the GranTurismo, featuring a 4.7L V8 pushing 433HP. Pricing and availability details are still on the low, but we can’t imagine picking up the keys to one of these for less than $200k.

Mercedes SLS AMG

It’s about time Mercedes renewed their passion for gullwing glory. At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes will be showing off their new Mercedes SLS AMG, a gullwing roadster with all the muscle and magnificence you can pack into a two-door sports car. The new SLS AMG has a 563HP , 6.3L V8 under its hood, getting this red rocket to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, on its way to a top end of 197mph. While we are entirely enamored, we wish Mercedes had put just a tiny bit more muscle into this one. Just 3 miles per hour away from a genuine supercar? Come on!

Brabus SV12 R BiTurbo 750 Mercedes S Class

This list would not be complete without Germany’s greatest tuner. Brabus will be introducing its latest Mercedes upgrade, the Brabus SV12 R BiTurbo 750 Mercedes S Class at Frankfurt 2009. It’s hard to imagine, but this tuned up Mercedes squeezes a full 750 horsepower out of the S Class, giving this legitimate supercar a top end of 211 mph. If you’ve got the money to pick up an S Class, why not save just a bit more to let Brabus do its dirty work? It’s like the difference between masturbation and sex…

Audi E-Tron Electric Car Concept

Audi couldn’t leave well enough alone, not being satisfied to simply release a bad ass convertible R8 at Frankfurt 2009. Nope. They had to up the sexy stakes with an R8-inspired electric car concept called the Audi E-Tron. While little is known about the E-Tron just yet, these images leaked out early this week leading up to the motor show. Will we see this one in the flesh at Frankfurt? We hope so, we’re dying to hear all the dirty details…

BMW Efficient Dynamics Concept

Sadly, this BMW beauty is only a concept. While it’ll be seen in skin at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009, the BMW Efficient Dynamics Concept should be a lot closer to production. Why? It’s the greatest merging of green and performance we’ve seen out of an established automaker yet. The Efficient Dynamics Concept is powered by three units: a 1.5L three-cylinder turbodiesel engine and two electric motors, one per axle. Together, these systems output 356hp and a fuel efficiency pushing 62.6 mpg. While this BMW may not have much of a competitive edge over a Fisker Karma or a Tesla Roadster, it is a welcome addition to the world of plug-in hybrids.

Peugeot RCZ

For those who prefer futurism and efficiency, well, now-ish, the new Peugeot RCZ is actually coming to a Peugeot dearly near you. If you’re lucky enough to actually have a dealer near you, this Peugeot promises 43 mpg and up to 200HP out of a 1.6L turbocharged engine similar to the Audi TT. Additionally, you can expect to see the RCZ within the price range of the mid-to-upper class, as this one has the looks of the supercar– and the engine of a fuel efficient import.
